Wheeling Truck Center was established in 1933 by C.H. Remp under the
name of "Wheeling White Truck Company, Inc." at the original
location on 17th Street in Wheeling, West Virginia and quickly
outgrew its facility and moved to its second location on Main Street
in Wheeling West Virginia. In 1969 the company moved into its
current location a 20,000 sq ft building at 23rd and
Market St. in Wheeling West Virginia. In 1987 when Volvo purchased
the White Motor Company "Wheeling White Truck Company, Inc." changed
its name to "Wheeling Truck Center, Inc." Shortly after the
company’s name change, the company added the GMC medium duty
franchise.
Wheeling Truck Center is currently owned by Ronald Remp a third
generation dealer and general manager. Chad Remp, the fourth
generation family member has been employed full time since 1998.
Chad is currently responsible for all leasing and rental operations
at Lobster Truck Leasing & Rental. Lobster Truck Leasing & Rental
is another "sister" company of Wheeling Truck Center, Inc. that is
also owned by Ronald Remp.
In 2006 Wheeling Truck Center is celebrating its 73rd
year in business and is now the oldest continuing White Volvo dealer
in the United States.
Most recently Wheeling
Truck Center has been honored as a Symbols of Excellence Gold Club
Dealer.
Wheeling Truck Center was ranked 16th out of 305 dealers in North
America in the Symbols of Excellence program.
Symbols of Excellence is an evaluation done by an independent third
party that grades Volvo and Mack dealerships on all aspects of
dealership operations.
